For a long time now, I've felt a pressing need to share my insights, believing firmly that being a visual artist encompasses far more than just creating art. Society often views artists through the lens of Instagram and other social media platforms, where the focus seems to be on sharing their work and little else. While this approach is perfectly valid for those who choose it, I find it somewhat limiting. Personally, I am driven by a desire to contribute more than just my art; I aim to provoke thought, challenge norms, and inspire.
I am convinced that art, in all its forms, requires a touch of madness from its creators. This is not the harmful kind of madness, but rather the kind that pushes us to question the status quo and pursue a personal purpose, even when it goes against societal or cultural norms. Artists, in this sense, are revolutionaries in their own right: their "madness" allows them to see the world from a unique perspective, leading to the creation of works that can shift perceptions and stir emotions.
Fame, that elusive specter many chase, is actually a byproduct of success, not its definition. Success, as I see it, is the achievement of personal goals set long ago, knowing full well that reaching them would require patience, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to one's art. Those who expect to reach the pinnacle overnight, especially in subjective and saturated fields like art, often meet with frustration. The path to a solid future in art is littered with trials, errors, falls, and yes, victories, though the latter may seem scarce compared to the challenges.
In a world that rewards the immediate and diminishes depth, the role of the artist is more critical than ever. Artists have the power not only to beautify the world with their creations but also to inspire and effect meaningful change in society. Every shared reflection, every work that challenges the status quo, contributes to this broader purpose.
This blog is born from a desire for freedom, to create a space where expression isn't subject to the arbitrary constraints of major digital platforms. It's a call to join a community that values authenticity and depth over immediacy and superficiality. So, I invite you to subscribe, stay connected, and be part of this journey towards a purer, uncensored form of artistic expression.
See you around. :)
